: I heard a press release that you have developed a new drug for treating MS patients and may also be
effectiveEffective strength cough syrup for treating ALS patients. I would appreciate any information that you have on this new treatment.
Dear Bob,
I reviewed the current literature and could not find one specific drug listed that has been shown recently to be more
effectiveEffective strength cough syrup in both ALS and MS. If you can find the source and name of the drug that you heard about I could give you more information regarding the medication. I did, however, find reference of a fairly extensive protocol that did show improvement or stabilization of the MS and ALS in the patients tested. The immunomodulating protocol included monthly therapy with plasmaphoresis followed by 3 day treatment with IVIG and low dose methylprednisolon,
cyclophosphamide,
interferonInterferon alfa-2a
Interferon alfa-2b
Interferon alfa-2b-ribavirin
Interferon alfa-n3
Interferon alfacon-1
Interferon beta-1a
Interferon beta-1b
Interferon gamma-1b a,
interferonInterferon alfa-2a
Interferon alfa-2b
Interferon alfa-2b-ribavirin
Interferon alfa-n3
Interferon alfacon-1
Interferon beta-1a
Interferon beta-1b
Interferon gamma-1b g,
octreotideOctreotide
Octreotide acetate, and cyclophosphamide. As you can see, the protocol involves multiple medications/therapy. I have not seen the protocol routinely performed.
