Do you think thyroid can manifest all those symptoms ? a big YES... you could blame any thing on this very important organ in our body
Do you answer this from experience? I had numbness in my feet, my hands are no longer numb, but I have numbness in my forehead and temple. I too, had high MMA, and I am taking b12 injections. How do you decipher if the numbness is coming from b12 deficiency or thyroid? I also have Hashimotos, and I have had problems regulating my thyroid for almost 3 years. Hopefully, this dosage I'm on will be it for me.
I'm so sorry I did not see your Qs..it would have been better if you posted a new qs...anyway
My question is if my MRI of brain is clear that means i should not have MS (Multiple Sclerosis), correct or should i look for some other things as well to rule out MS? NO, YOU DO NOT NEED ANY MORE TESTS .
In regards to ALS , is there any test i should do to rule out this ALS ? YOUR EMG WAS NORMAL
Bob

My question is if my MRI of brain is clear that means i should not have MS (Multiple Sclerosis), correct or should i look for some other things as well to rule out MS .
In regards to ALS , is there any test i should do to rule out this ALS ?. or based on what i gave you explanation about my symptoms and test result, you think i just have either b12 or thyroid and some anxiety and nothing else .
Once again Bob what you are doing for people after retirement is really great work , God will give you great benefit for this cause and help. ..
You are welcome,

the only reported effect ,though not proved, is stimulate sexual desires
I have also issues with muscless weakness in my arms +started having pain in my arm above elbow and wrist as well . ..try to give them some time before using any symptomatic therapy!! they will go away
symptoms take time to heal up even with normal thyroid level? Yes
Bob
Thanks a lot for your reply . My Potassium level in last 10 months test done in different time frame is always 4.3-4.7 , which sounds to be normal...
Is there any problem if your B12 level is higher than normal because i am taking B12 injection for last 3 days it can be high but not sure would it cause any negative impact ?.
I have also issues with muscless weakness in my arms specially which give me even hard time to hold cell phone longer when i am talking to some one , i started having pain in my arm above elbow and wrist as well .
If my thyroid level get normal , should my symptoms go away or those neurological symptoms take time to heal up even with normal thyroid level.
Once again i really thank you for your help.
You are welcome,
Before I go to your Qs, I want to say that its not only the compression effect in hypothyroidism could cause your symptomes, its also well known that hypothyroidism cause a direct damage to the nerve axons (any nerve has a body and an axon, say like an arm extends from the spin to the hands and feet) which takes some time to recover
My question is do you think one b12 injection can rapidaly drop MMA level ? Yes but not immediately.....this question remind me of an imprtant issue with B12 injections which could cause a transient low potassium (causes exhusion, fatigue, worse tingling)...make sure your potassium level in the blood at least a 4 (different labs..3-5.2 is normal)
Do you recommend any test which i can do to rule other possibilities ?NO , except the Potassium level

In addition to my last post . My Neuro did perform Ab receptor and blocking for MG which came back negative, i also done MRI for Brain which came back normal which little bit of sinus on left side .
Do you think thyroid can manifest all those symptoms ?
Thanks for your reply . I changed my GP as she was not listening to me in part of b12 injections according to her if B12 level increase with oral supplement i am not pernicious aneamia although my MMA level was high. The New GP performed series of test which include MMA level and TSH also before i performed those test 18 hours prior to those test she gave me one B12 injection and also keep in mind i continously taking B12 supplement of 1000mcg . The test result came out with all normal , even MMA is 0.16 /IF AB for blocking is negative , however my TSH went down way low , it is now .002 so i became Hyper due to enough dose of levoxyl/cytomel (0.75mcg/10mcg) .
My question is do you think one b12 injection can rapidaly drop MMA level ?.
All my symptoms are weakness in muscles/fatigue /joint pains/numbness and tingling only on feet and palm/wrist , which i am thinking could because of nerve compress due to thyroid which can give carpal tunnel and tarsal tunnel syndrome but don't know why muscles weakness and pain.
Do you recommend any test which i can do to rule other possibilities ?
Your help here is greatly appreciate it .
Hi,
It was a very wise way of your doctors to look for M gravis, or even episodic hypokalemia as a possible cause of your symptomes in a case of hoshimotoe's " Common things are common" and its also wise to give b12 injection if your level is remain low ,
One thing would stop me if your MMA only continued to be high..though its more sensitive than homocystein level, but this sensitivity will be lost in case you continue to be symptomatic and B12+ Hom are normal...Meaning we have a different diagnosis called Methylmalonic acidemia, which a disease of infants esp if breast fed by a vegan/vegetrian mothers or children....but an adult or
