Numbness, Weird taste in the mouth...

by Hypo74, May 18, 2007 12:00AM
I am really concerned that something is wrong with me. Last week I woke up in the middle of the night with a weird taste in my mouth and numbness in my arm, mouth and hand. I kind of felt spaced out for a minute, and then everything was back to normal. This happened 3-4 times about 3 days ago while I was at work, then nothing for the last 3 days. I seem to be fine now. My neurologist has ordered MRIs/EEG to rule out tumors, MS, and infection. What are the odds that this could be a tumor? It doesn't seem like the classic symptoms, but I guess you never know.

Wow, another person over on the Doctor to Patient Neurology forum just asked a very similar question.  The CC doc answered him and you might find the answer interesting.  Please go read it.  The question was posted 4/22.  There question was about numbness and tingling in the extremities and altered sense of taste.  Quix

In this answer to you I presumed that the numbness had persisted , but when I read your two posts I see that it lasts only a few seconds.  This is not what was being discussed on the other forum.  I apologize, Quix

My grandson is 7 and a twin.  Both boys have behavior disorders. However, the one that is intellectually more advanced, just mentioned that sometimes he feels like he spaces out and then has a taste at the back of his mouth. This boy was walking at 6 months and is very agile. They are fraternal. Both, to me are normal for who they are. I was concerned about this revelation.  At this point, he will not tell anyone else what he told me.  I think he has decided he might have to see a Dr and does not want to.  Recently, he had to have some stitches in his leg due to a play injury. While this is fresh in his mind, I think it influences him.  Is there a need for concern?
