Numbness and tingling in the legs and feet

  :Dear Ted,RE:your problem of numbness and tingling[burning] in right foot.Same problem for me for 4 years.I had S-1-L-5 disc removed,no help at all.I've had EMG's and 8MRI's.UCLA Medical Center says it's my T-7-T8 midline herniated disc"impinging"slightly on the spinal cord.Scripps Hospital in San Diego[LaJolla]says it's my T8-9 that is causing my systems.[My exact symtoms (symptoms):Right foot burning,right groin burning,burning pain in right leg and from my navel around to middle of my back I am totally numb!]Please,be careful of S-1L-5 surgery[discectomy],usually S1-L-5 is a severe pain down the leg,not numbness or burning.You mentioned MRI of Lumbar Spine[S1-L5],have you had a MRI of Thoracic Spine??? This should pinpoint "involved Disc".I hope this info can be of some help.I,myself will be having surgery next month [either T8-9 orT7-8??!!Best of luck to you.My E.Mail address is ***@**** .

I agree that the MRI result does not explain the symptoms you are having. I also share Vince's opinion regarding surgery.
