The symptoms you describe are consistent with a peripheral neuropathy
which has been described as part of the Lyme disease constellation of
symptoms.
Peripheral neuropathies frequently require regeneration of the affected
nerves to establish full recovery, this process may take several months
to achieve full recovery.
Peripheral neuropathies are investigated by means of EMG and nerve
conduction studies and this might well be an appropriate test in your case,
as it would establish the underlying type of damage, the severity of the
damage to peripheral nerves and give you a more precise idea as to the prospects
for recovery.
This test is performed by a neurologist who specializes in neuromuscular
disorders and given your symptoms it would be a good idea to ask to
be referred for this.
