Numbness in hand and burning sensastion

by Nelson Pilay, Oct 05, 2007 04:45AM
Since yesterday, I felt a slight numbnesses on my left hand.  The pain persist and this morning I felt burning sensation on my left side body and sought doctor's help. I thought I must have had a storke or heart attack.  I am on medication for hihg blood pressure for the last 13 years.
I went to the doctor, he performed a ECG and the test result was " Normal ECG" and thereafter did an X-ray on my chest and the result that my chest was okay.  My heart beat was okay.  Finally was sent to see a Neuro Surgeon, he mentioned that based on the ECG test there is no indication of heart attach or storke.  He said it is very likely related to nerve being rubbed against spinal cord which could result in burning sensation and numdness.  He further added that it would normally ake about 2 days to subsude and nothing to worry.  Can you please advice.
