Numbness in pinkies and knees

I am a 50 year old male, 5'7" 200lbs.  For the past year I have noticed numbness and tingling in my pinkies and the attached bottom edge of both hands.  I also noticed topical numbness on the outer sides of my knees caps.  Also, if I kneel on my knees in certain spots, the pain is crippling.

Please help me.

There could be a peripheral neuropathy or a joint inflammation taking place. You will need to consult a neurologist first.

A thorough clinical examination is necessary.

Do you suffer from any other illness, such as diabetes?

I wrote of numbness and tingling in my pinkies, edge of my hand and the sies of my knees with extreme pain when kneeling.  

You asked if I had Diabetes

I have a strong family history of Diabetes and take Tricor for cholesterol (actually high Triglycerides) but get my blood checked every 6 months and sugars levels are never even close to a problem.

A peripheral sypmtom I did not mention is the loss of the sense of smell but I have had ongoing sinusitus and sinus surgery over the years.
