Numbness in tip of tongue

Hello Doctor

I am from India. Recently i was suffering from neck pain i had taken a xray which shows there is problem in c4,c5 and c6 disk problem. Doctor says it is a early stage of spondlysis. I have been takening medicine for the same.

But recently i have been experience numbness in the tip of my tongue not regularly but occasionally. Can u please suggest what it may be?

Hi Jimmy,

How are you? Numbness of the tongue may be attributed a problem with the nerve supplying it. The sensory portion of the tongue is supplied by the fifth cranial nerve or Trigeminal nerve. If it  persists, have this evaluated further for proper diagnosis. Imaging of the nerve course as well as a neurological examination are important. Take care and best regards.
