Numbness

by jess0120, Feb 22, 2008 01:30PM
Hi, about a month ago I woke up with a headache type pain in my left temple area, it went away ( I had one about 3 yrs ago.)  I went to the doctor who thought it was maybe because my nose was plugged up.  She put me on Flonase, after two days of that I got really strong pressure on both temples.  Kind of like wearing a really tight hat.  I stopped that, everything felt fine.  Then about a week later my left cheek went numb.  Went to the doctor who thought something with the nerve in my face was causing this.  Later that night my left foot went numb (feeling like it feel asleep), I waited through the weekend my left hand went numb too.  Went back to the doctor on Monday, she still thought it was nothing.  Ran some bloodwork checked vitamin B12 and vitamin D.  My vitamin B12 was alittle low 193 when I think its supposed to be 200.  After I left her office the pressure in my temples came back, so I called her back still she thought it was nothing.  Didn't like her answer so I went to see my normal doc.  She put me on vitamin B12 and folic acid pills.  Then requested a MRI.  Results came back normal.  Went and saw a Neurologist who ran all of his test.  Came back normal.  But requested a MRA with contrast.  Normal again.  He said he has no idea.  Two days later, the left side of my neck seemed pressurized and tight.

Can someone please tell me what is wrong with me?

hi,as results are normal(MRI),most probably you are not having any organic disorder.Cause of problem could be psychological(stress),low calcium levels, hypothyroidism, neuropathy etc.

You can try course of gabapentin, carbamazepine after consultation with doctor to rule out neuropathy.

bye and take care!
