Nystagmus

10 days ago, I had Botox treatments for tension headaches.  Yesterday, my husband (ret. MD) noticed that I'm having bilateral nystagmus.  I've also had low grade nausea for several days.  The neurologist who did the Botox said I should wait 5 weeks until my follow-up with him.  If the nausea is caused by the nystagmus, I don't want to wait that long.  Should I see an opthamologist, GP, another neurologist?  Is there any treatment?  No alcohol or seizure meds.  Normal neuro exam prior to Botox.

Thanks

over the past years, headaches diagnoses both as tension and mild migraine.  MRIs normal.  BP normal.  No apparent other causes.  No nausea before  Botox and I can get rid of nausea if I don't use computer or read or read for several hours.  Headaches for decades prior to this---mild but frequent.  Do have internist appt for next week as I thought neurologist a little lackadaisical.

Hello.

I would like to know if all other causes of your headache were rule out before the diagnosis of "tension headache". Particularly, was the nausea there before you took Botox ?

Regards

Hi,
Surprised to hear about nystagmus following Botox treatment.
Botox injections are used in the treatment of the nystagmus.

Side effects of Botox ---
Most side effects—such as pain, tenderness, or bruising at the injection site—are temporary and occur within a few days after treatment.
The most common side effects of injections around the eyes and in
the face include temporary bruising, eyelid drooping (ptosis), dry eyes, and double vision(diplopia) and facial droop can occur with injections into the cheek.

Hence it would be advisable for you to have an appointment with your physician or ophthalmologist.
