: I'm 37 and I've had symptoms of ON for the last 5 months. Last summer I
had an undiagnosed systemic infection with severe headache, fever and
a rubella-like rash (I had rubella in 1978 and measles in 1967). I also had
bladder and vaginal infection. But most of all my vision was blurred in the
beginning and I was left with a scotoma in my left eye. No improvement
since then, and no cure was given by the several ophtalmologists I saw.
This month I had some new symptoms like difficulty in walking, numbness in
legs and arms and I started to worry a lot.
My neurologist noticed a slight hyperreflexia and ordered Evoked Potentials
(which I had yesterday). A MRI is on schedule if EP are wrong. He suggested
  also tests for Lyme borreliosis.
Apart from the visual scotoma and daily headache, I suffer from
hyperacusis and the slightest sound makes me mad. This has been for over
  a year.
I remember I had something similar to a Erithema Migrans two years ago.
Could my symptoms relate to LD rather than MS? In case the serology is
negative, could it be Lyme as well? I'm negative to Toxoplasmosis, EBV,
  Clamydia (chlamydia) and Cytomegalovirus.
Thanks for reading me and for any advice.
  Is hyperacusis common in MS?
