Odd Headache

I'm a 20 year old white male in pretty good physical condition. I don't exercise regularly but I try to eat right and I'm not overweight at all.

For over a week now I've had the strangest headache. I've never really been one to have headaches so this is even more strange. The left side of my head is where the pain is. My temple region feels pressure, along with the top right part of my head and the back lower right part of my head. It sometimes feels like there is something in there crawling around, which sounds disgusting. I've had a CT scan done about a half year ago, but I don't know if anything could have developed since then. My biggest fear is that I have an unruptured aneurysm just waiting to pop. I normally feel the pressure/pain in the right side of my head more at night when all is quiet and I'm alone with my thoughts. It drives me crazy! I've also been feeling tension in the right side of my neck.

What do you guys think?

Thanks for the comments! So you had an aneurysm rupture on you? I'm so sorry to hear that but I have some questions. How severe were your headaches and how long did they go on for until your aneurysm ruptured? My headaches aren't so much painful, but annoying. It's more pressure than anything really. For about two days they went away completely but unfortunately came back.

Hi there. I'm sorry to hear that you are worrying about this and you are suffering such bad headaches. The stress alone, will not be easing your headaches and probably contributing to the tension on your neck.

I suffered a brain haemmorhage in Dec 05. I had had suffered constant headaches (and just taken pain killers) prior to my SAH...and I put the headaches down to tiredness from work etc. I only wish now, I'd thought about going to the Doctor about it.

I've just found out that I have a 2nd aneursym on the left side of my brain.. but I have to say, my headaches are no worse, than they have been. They were extreme after my surgery but have lessened majorly.

Without making your paranoid.. a brain haemmorhage does bring pain to the neck and shoulder..but it could just be your tension.

May I ask, why you had the CT scan done?? Was this to do with headaches or something else??

An angiogram, to my knowledge is the best form of scan to check for blood vessels..along with a MRI scan.

I would try not to worry..but what I would do is arrange an appointment with your Doctor asap. Due what I've been through, as said above, I wished I'd done things about my headaches..and I now (although I'm so used to headaches) would not hesitate in going to see my Doc, if I didn't feel 'right'! We all know our bodies the best..so you know if you feel things are not the way they should be.

I hope you will be okay.. and please don't worry about things until they happen .. ok.
Let us know how you get on..and make that appointment asap.

Take care,
L x
