Odd tingling patterns

Odd tingling patterns

Hello,

For the past two months, I have experienced an odd array of sensations. At its foundation, it is a fairly transient, mild tingling sensation that comes in "pulses" every five seconds or so. It began in the tip of my left pinky finger and proceeded to migrate around, but always on the left side of my body. I have felt it in my face, lip, hand, back, leg and foot. It is unusual in that, generally, only one site tingles at a time, and as soon as one location stops, a new one starts. It never affects a very large area at one time; for example, I can always localize it to a specific area when it occurs in a finger. Typically, the tingling lasts about 2 days to a week or so before moving on. There seems to be no specific trigger...it can begin in sweltering heat or frigid cold. Oh, and I am a 22 y/o male.

Does this sound like something that I should get checked out? I have read a lot about MS and it has had me fairly worried recently. Thanks for your time.

The transient migrating sensory symptoms you are describing are not typical for MS. If you are concerned about the symptoms, then seeing your primary care doctor is a good start. From there a consultation to a specialist can be made if necessary. Without more symptoms, or the ability to examine you, I can not be more specific.

You might as well go to a doctor about it, because if it is something to be treated, it might take a long time to finally detect what it really is. I've been going to 7 different doctors for over 2 months trying to figure out what is wrong with me, but they can't, and I'm also experiencing a lot worse symptoms now than when I first saw a doctor. Good luck and best wishes...
