Old Injury

I have had a brain injury since the age of 3 in 1971, I wasn't able to get any type of rehab (life skills, vision skills, social skills, and gain knowlege of injury) until 1993, I needed that kind of rehab years sooner but there wasn't any back then. Is there a certain level that you you stop recovering from brain trauma  or do you keep recovering throughout your life? I did hear that I would have been killed in the accident if I was older, I was sleeping with my head of the inside of the left side rear passenger door and that is where the drunk driver had crashed into our car. I heard I was taken to the hospital in a police car because they were there before the ambulance was.
