  Dear Dr.,
I had a TBI 4 years ago.  I continue to have problems with migraines,
dizziness, lightheadedness, slurred speech and motion sickness.
I've been on multiple med's that work for a certain amount of time then I regress.  My MD thinks I'm a malingerer,  I was wondering if these symptoms are uncommen this far after injury.  Also why do the drugs work for a period of time then I need to increase dose or change drugs.
  Thank's for any input.

Dear Leanne:
It is difficult to judge on the cause of your symptoms as you have said
yourself, four years is along time for this to continue. There are two
possible explanations for this. The first is that you may have suffered
from irreversible damage to your brain which has subjected you to these
symptoms and the other is that there may be some other unrelated cause for
these problems. In any event I think that imaging with an MRI may be
helpful in determining the cause of these problems. If you have not
seen a neurologist recently I recommend that you do so.
If you have any other questions please write back.
Good Luck!
