: I was diagnosed with Multiple Symptom Atrophy, with subsets Shy-Drager Syndrome and OPCA in 1995. Luckily, I have not yet suffered many of the desease's most dibilitating symptoms, although my ataxia has rendered me nearly immobile without my wheelchair.
My question is this: I recently became  aware of a new drug that promises hope for regeneration of nerve cells (PGI-1046). This is the area my neurologist told me to watch for. Was he just telling me what I wanted to hear? Is there anything to the PGI-1046 research? How do I volunteer? What, if anything, does this have to do with the Neuro-genetics companyand cell btc-2 research? (www.neuro-genetics.com)
  Thanks.

Hello John,
I am not aware of the specific experimental protocol that you mentioned.  You may want to ask your neurologist who in the country is doing this research.
