: I was diagnosed with Peripheral Neuropathy almost
3 years ago. It started in my lower legs with all the
basic simptoms and in a peiod of about 6 month the
symptoms moved up to my upper legs,
hipsHip joint replacement
Hip pain and buttocks. The reason for this post is for the fact that
8 month into my neuropathy I develop these vibrations that will only happen while sleeping.
This vabrations at the begining will cover small ares of my chest or my
neckCervical spondylosis
Head and neck glands
Herpes zoster (shingles) on the neck and cheek
Irritated seborrheic kerotosis - neck
Lymph tissue in the head and neck.
Melanoma - neck
Neck lump
Neck pain
Neck pulse
Neck x-ray
Oral cancer or my
faceFace pain or my stomach.
Later on they will cover more than one area at a time. The vibrations feel like having a vibrator inside
you body.At the begining the vibrations felt very superficial but now the feel deep into the body .This
have been going on for two years, every night, and nobody knows what is causing it.
I have search the internet for this type of symptoms
and can not find any body with any thing close to it.
I have seen 3 Neurologist at Lahey Hitchcock Clinic
and 2 at Peter Brighams in BOSTON with no luck.
Can somebody have any suggestion as to what to do
next or to why this vibrations are happenig
I certainly hope somebody will have a logical explenation as to why this is happening to me

The sensations that you describe do not conform to any known neuroanatomic pattern, which is likely why none of the five neurologists you have seen can provide a rational, nonpsychiatric explanation for your symptoms. There is an entity known as cardioballistic

Familial tremor
Hand tremor
Tremor, which is a
tremorEssential tremor
Familial tremor
Hand tremor
Tremor transmitted through your body that originates in your heart, although this is more typically pulsatile. Another entity is one called
orthostaticHypotension
Multiple system atrophy tremor, which is a similar bizarre feeling, although this typically occurs when one is standing upright--- but it's not inconceivable that someone could have a similar thing but when lying down instead. Needless to say, I think this sort of problem will be extremely difficult to treat. You could theoretically try an antitremor medication like propranolol or another "beta blocker" type medication. This may help the aforementioned two problems and might help you if you have one of them or some variant of them. If you are interested in a sixth opinion here at the Cleveland Clinic, I
would suggest a Dr. Patrick Sweeney, who is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of tremor. If after six opinions you have no neurologic answer, I would strongly suggest a psychiatric consultation in case this represents a physical symptom of an underlying, undiagnosed anxiety disorder (some such dosorders initially present only with physical/body symptoms depite their primarily prychiatric nature). The Cleveland Clinic appointment line for the department of neurology is 216-444-5559 or 1-800-223-2273 extension 45559. I hope you find this information useful.
