PNF and Tourettes link?

PNF and Tourettes link?

Hi all...heres a question to ponder (and reply too please...) I am a sufferer of Pheripheral Nerve hyperexcitability, and my son has just been diagnosed with Tourettes...whats the possibility of a link between the two?  Dr tells me Tourettes is inherited...I wonder if I had it as a kid myself, but, as I was a kid with no self confidence and even as an adult low self awreness of these sorts of things, I just passed it off as normal...I do seem to remember my parents telling me off for making strange noises with my throat though....
Just a thought...please comment....:-)

Hi there. Tourette syndrome is an inherited neuropsychiatric disorder with childhood onset characterized by multiple physical tics and about one vocal or phonic tic. The more common tics are eye blinking, coughing, throat clearing, sniffing and facial movements. You could be suffering from this disorder only in childhood considering the vocal noises your parents recall you making. There are two other associated disorders with this syndrome, obsessive-compulsive disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Hope this helps. Take care.
