Pain after back surgery

Pain after back surgery

Posted By Tommy on January 03, 1999 at 02:56:03:

I had a bak interbody fusion done on L-5 S-1 on 11-9-98. After about one
week I started having severe pain in my left leg starting at my hip and
going all the way to the bottom of my foot. I have a lot of burning
sensation in my left ankle and the big toe is also numb and I also have
foot drop in that leg. I have to wear leg brace when I walk. I've had mri's
c-scan's and mylogram and my doctor can't find anything out of the
ordinary. I had the surgery for pain and numbness in my right leg and its
fine now but my left leg is a lot worse than  my right leg ever was. When I
go back on 1-13-99 the doctor has mentioned doing a nerve studying. My
doctor is a neurosurgeon and is at a loss as to what the problem is. Any
opinions or information that you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
