Pain and numbness in shoulder

Pain and numbness in shoulder

What could cause partial numbness and pain in my shoulder and upper arm for several minutes at a time?

There could be several origins for your numbness and pain. One could be related just to the shoulder joint itself, involving thee rotator cuff or surrounding tendons and ligaments. Another origin could be from the cervical spine, which if damage from degenerative disk disease common with ageing (aging), can cause nerve related symtpoms. But the only way to find out for sure is to schedule an appointment with you doctor to rule out anything more serious, and more importantly, to discuss finding ways to relieve your symtpoms.
