Pain from left shoulder to left wrist

This is my first post , i'm serving in the military and the medical where i'm at has proven itself very difficult to work with. I've been having pain in my left arm since mid december. This pain originally started in my left tricep area and worked its way to my wrist over about a month. The pain went away gradually and I went to a ground fighting course this past week. I was medically dropped because of pain in my left shoulder almost at the base of my neck going all the way to my left wrist. The pain is not as bad if I stand up or if I lay on my left side. If I sit against my back the pain can be almost a 10 out of 10 on the pain scale. I've been told it's more then likely a pinched nerve. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?Anything at this point would be helpful . Thank you!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there. You could be having compressive neuropathy at the level of the shoulder joint or at the cervical/ thoracic spinal cord in the form of spondylosis, disc degeneration etc. consult a neurologist for a clinical evaluation who would want an MRI spine to check the scenario. An x-ray of the shoulder joint on the left side anteroposterior and lateral view are also required. Therapy would depend on the cause of the symptoms. Take care.

The liklihood is you have what is called a subluxation injury, causing pinching of a cervical nerve. The injury is not in the arm.

Generally an MRI is indicated and the problem is often completely resolved by forceful manipulation and temporary use of anti-inflammatories.

You have to get this in your medical records.
