Pain in back of head

Im 21 female a little overweight dont smoke and no other health issues. For the past week or so i have been getting a headache on and off in the back of my head just above my hairline also into my neck and shoulders and right down my spine. For the past couple of days its been worse and waking me in the night.
I have been to my doctors and he made sure i had good movement in my spine which i did and my neck has good movement, does not hurt to move it. When he was pressing my head and neck it did really hurt so he says its definatly tension headache also made worse because of my posture(i admit its terrible and i slouch at my desk)also i have a new bed and pillows which he feels may also contribute.
Can tension headache cause a lot of pain?
Can it cause pain in my back also?
I want to believe my doctor but i am slightly worried its something worse. I can see fine and feel fine otherwise and he say there is no way its anything nasty. But i am suffering from anxiety as it is so my brain cant stop thinking its something bad..

Osteoarthritis of the cervical vertebrae will cause the same pain you are describing.  Get an X-ray and maybe a MRI of your neck and head.  I believe your doctor is wrong.
