Pain in left foot after back surgery

Pain in left foot after back surgery

I had surgery on my lower lumbar about six weeks ago and ive had numbness in my left foot to include my big toe, the instep of my foot and up the left side of my ankle and up my calf since the surgery. About 4 weeks ago I had sharp pains in my foot that were eased with pressure they lasted for 3-4 days my doc said it was normal. Then about 2 weeks ago it felt like i had sprained my ankle when I was walking but i know for sure i didnt do anything to it. Last week I noticed that there was pain in my big toe again this time a burning pain, it lasted for a few days and now feels like it has spread to at least my second toe and is exacerbated by touch. I have seemed to be able to control it for the most part by wrapping my foot with an ace bandage keeping pressure on it but it has to be pretty tight which means I cant have it on very long. It hurts like hell and would like to know if any or all of this is normal and how long it is expected to last and will it get worse.
