Pain

I have had a plugged ear for 3 weeks.  Dr. put me on a nasal spray and pain killers.  My head is killing me, they did a CT scan and said it was not normal, extra fluid on the brain.  I do not feel good and just wondered if I should go up to emergency.

Hi...sounds like u could have PTC also known as inter cranial hypertension...it is excess CSF fluid that causes pressure.

Most times changes in position will change how u feel.....u should be seen by a NL to do further testing.

I also wonder what else ur Dr has told u....when was this CT scan...

A MRI of the brain would be next....and of the cervical spine as well....and a possible LP.

  Good luck

Hi there -

I'm going to move this to Neurology, but if you have fluid on the brain, and are in pain and feeling poorly, perhaps a trip to Emergency wouldn't hurt.  Make sure to follow up with your doctor as well.
