Just had a brain scan via MRI. I have a scalp condition - probably lupus. The pain started at the site of recent biopsies and started to spread across the top of my head towards my eyes - then I pushed the emergency button to stop the MRI. It felt like needles poking far into my head. When they pulled me out of the MRI machine and took off all of the gear, my head was shaking uncontrollably. Have you ever heard of that?
Thanks for your comments. I have severed connection with the medical organization that sent me to the two (2) separate machine locations and the time frame crosses a few years. I will add that even the operators tried to shield the fact that I had experienced intense pain.
Thanks for your response and I do not consider a hot searing pain that grows in intensity a discomfort. In addition, I must add that your are the ONLY person of many I have asked, that even admitted to the possibility of "discomfort" during a MRI session. Reminds me of the goverment and th catholic church.
This should be reported to the FDA from the form on their website, along with the date and place. Feedback helps them to monitor use of medical devices. This is a very rare occurance, and I suspect the machine is out of adjustment.
Hi there!
Well, very rarely the radiowaves used in MRI may causes increased sensitivity in a few individuals and this associated with increased blood flow to the region nay be responsible for the discomfort. Adjusting the intensity of the microwaves may help alleviate the symptoms.
Hope the information is helpful.
Take care!
I just had an mri done on my neck as part of an ongoing car accident situation. I know I'm going to sound absolutely crazy but I could feel the magnetic field and the radio waves pulsing threw every fiber of my being, I was describing it as a buzzing of my organs honestly there really is no words in our vocabulary to describe what happened to me, I would say it was like taking dmt and trying to explain its effects to someone who has never taken a drug. Every pulse sound the machine made I could feel vibrating threw my whole body beaming down me. I lasted 2 cycles maybe 1 to 2 minutes before I squeezed the ball. The girl came and asked if everything was OK and I said are my hands supposed to be like buzzing she repeated the word buzzing with a shocked sound to her voice which lead to me saying ok get me out of here this isn't right. Once out I kept comparing the after effects to being electrocuted as I was an electrician for over 10 years and have been shocked numerous times. They really did nothing and went as far as suggesting I try the open mri, I laughed and said I can barely stand straight and you want me to hop in another one after I just told you it felt like it electrocuted me lol there is definitely something going on here that is being covered up
I had a MRI done last Friday on my knee. Suspected torn medial menicus. When it started I started having some tingling in thigh and ankle area. The tingling continued to get worse and went to stabing pain after 20 minutes. Tech. stopped so I could move foot and butt around. Continued to get worse. I had 8-9 pain out of 10 all day Friday , Saturday and Sunday. I was taking Moderna previous and stil ltaking it. Yesterday I talked to Orthopedic about it and he did not know what was going on. Diagnosis was moderate arthritis and torn meniscus. Given shot of cortizone. Is helping alot.
I have had a few MRI's before and never had pain with a MRI. Chest MRI's over the last 20 years and a hip MRI about a month and a half ago at same institution. Some back ground about my pain tolerance. When I had a x-ray about 15 years ago I was told I broke my back previously in 3 different area's. Only metal I have is in left ring finger. I did wore a pair of jeans that had a zipper in it but tech said it would be alright. I had brought shorts that did nit have any metal in it.
