Hi, I had a left inguinal hernia repair done approximately 1 1/2-2 months ago. After the surgery I noticed that my left testicleTesticle lump Testicle pain Testicle ultrasound hund a lot lower than it did before and it was causing considerable discomfort. i soon realized that I was able to draw up my right testicleTesticle lump Testicle pain Testicle ultrasound at will but the left one would not move at all. i brought my concern to my surgeon who said that some numbnessNumbness and tingling is commonCommon cold and he wanted to see me in a month. Well, more than a month has passed and there is still no movement in the left testicleTesticle lump Testicle pain Testicle ultrasound. My surgeon stated that it was possible that he may have cutCuts and puncture wounds a nerve. My question is this. I have spoken to my Primary Care Physician who stated that in all his years, he has never seen this in a post hernia repair. I have done some reading on this and a sympton like mine was described and the cause was a severing of the nerve that runs down the spermatic cord. Is there any other causes than that becuse that is irreversible. Should I seek a neurologist, a urologist, or a lawyer! Please help. I'm terrified that this is going to be permanent.
I had an inguinal hernia repaired by incision in 1993 at the age of 14 and the same thing happened, but I never reported it. I definitely cannot control my right testicle. I remember my right scrotum filled with a mass of hard scar tissue after the surgery, which subsided after a few days. The surgeon was not concerned about that. I don't know if it affected my fertility, as I have not had (nor tried to have) any children. It has not made me impotent though.
