Peripheral Neuroma in leg

by lubbockgal, Oct 12, 2009 12:22PM
I was diagnosed 7 years ago as having a non-tramtic neuroma in my calf.  Over the years it has become extremely painful.  I have episodic burning nerve pain.  Have taken Lyrica and am currently on Neurontin.  My Pain Dr has recommended that I have the nerve burned.  Is anyone familiar with this procedure.  I am so tired.  The pain is unbearable.  However I am familiar with this pain and do not want a procedure that could potentially make the pain worse.  I have maxed out on the allowable effective dose of Neurontin.  Lyrica is not an option as I could not handle the side effects.  Was on it a year and couldnt wait to get off.  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!!
