I have been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy, probably due to my drugs I need to take for my Kidney Transplant or is a side effect of this disease, I am on DilantinDilantin Dilantin infatabs Dilantin kapseals Dilantin-125, one tablet twiceTwice-a-day a day, I have recently started Gym work and running, my pain is higher at night when I lay down in bed but recently it has escalated and it seem to be moving up my leg but only at night, during the day it is OK if I wear well cushioned shoes, it seems the closer to the surface you tread then the more I feel it. My question is whether someone knows of a better drug or natural remedy that I can try, or would massaging or physio help, especially now that I am exercising and running. But my other drugs must be taken into account otherwise it could damage my transplant.
My husband has peripheral neuropathy due to hep c. He is on lyrica. Some days it works and other days the burning is almost to much to bare. It was suggested on this site to try ice and aloe vera by someone. good luck
I have found a remedy called Electroregenesis, it is apparently like T.E.N.S but better for this. It is electrical pulsesNeck pulse Pulse Pulse - bounding Pulse - weak or absent Radial pulse Takayasu arteritis Taking your carotid pulse sent through your body which stimulates the nerves and other parts, it is on the internet probably explained better. But I am starting that on Monday and I will let you know how I progress but it will be acouple of weeks.

My father suffers alot with it too, has Parkinson's disease and other problems. He takes neurontin. Have read in this forum about taking Lyrica with Cymbalta and easily absorbed vitamin B12 - methylcobalamin, has anyone tried this? Thank you
I too have peripheral neuropathy which is a total nightmare.I have posted a couple of times about the use of tramadol/ultram.I used 200mg of tramadol one morning as I was at the end of my tether.i couldnt sleep or properly function because of the pain so I tried it.I have been relatively pain free for 2 weeks now and slept like i have never before (catching up on lack of sleep before tramadol) and I feel much better but still not 100%.The only thing I can say is that a good nights sleep is something I craved whilst suffering the foot pain.I know it wont work forever but I am enjoying the sleep (I slept 18 hours last night).
ME TOOOOO! The pain is ridiculous. I haven't tried tramadol or any narcotis - my family is a bunch of addicts so I am a little gun-shy. So, I have tried Neurontin, Cymbalta, muscle relaxers - to no avail. I think the best thing for me has been Pamelor. I tried Elavil and it worked for the pain, but I couldn't stop sleeping and I was kind of stoned. I am also taking Alpha Lipoic Acid and Vitamin B-12. I try to keep my feet in loose shoes with think socks at work and as soon as I get home, I take them off. A TENS unit worked while it was on (I left it on at night - the most dreaded neuropathy time of day). Massaging can't hurt. What perplexes me is....I have read where the pain may be the nerves actually regenerating, but who knows. Also, stress reduction helps. If I am stressed I burn worse. It hurts people! I understand!
