Pilocytic astrocytoma

by militarylawyer, Nov 11, 2006 12:00AM
My son (21) was diagnosed with a brain tumour in August which consequently was identified as a benign pilocytic astrocytoma.

Unfortunately due to the location  of the tumour not all of the nodule could be removed. Apart from that the operation was a success and Douglas suffered little if no resulting damage.

We are now waiting for the next MRI scan to establish whether the tumour is still growing and at what rate.

My questions are:
1) what is the likelyhood the tumour will regrow?
2) what websites would represent good resources on this type of tumour?

Thanks
Concerned father....
