Did they check your blood to see if you were exposed to Herpes? Have they done titer's to check exposure to rubella, and adeno viruses? Have you asked your doctor that is doing the Bell's Palsy therapy if Valtrex would help?
How is your lymph nodes, spleen, liver, and thyroid? Have they done a spinal tap?
I am going to try to get some info. from a M.D., D.O., as well as a Microbiologist, and Pathologist. There has to be someone that knows or has experienced this before. I will also do some searching, you are so young I wish there was more I could do. Do you eat a lot of carbs, protein, vegetables, fruits? Where is your Mild Scoliosis what level and when was the last time it was checked? It seems like something is pressing on pinching or cutting a nerve. Studies have shown that Bell's Palsy can in rare cases be due to Scoliosis. Did your test ruled out tumor's, aneurysms? You had a normal brain function but does that show if you have any fluid or swelling in your skull not associated with the brain, putting pressure on any of your Cranial nerves? Was your MRI of your skull what area. Have you ever had a head injury, did the Neurologist, look thru your eye's? Do you drink, or take any drugs, sorry I just need the facts.
I took Gamma once a month for 6 months IM injections with no improvement. Now I have developed Bell's Palsy on the left side of my face. I cut out all carbonated/caffinated/artificial sugars about 9 months ago. I have just recently been placed on prednisone and Famvir (antiviral) for the Bell's Palsy so that it does not become permanent. I have seen a hematologist, Internal Med Specialist, Nuerologist, and Infectious Disease doctor. I have been doing some research and found a study that discusses the use of Valtrex for 6 months with great improvement for patients who have chronic active levels of the EBV I think I am going to give that a shot once I complete the treatment for Bell's Palsy. I hope that it completely resolves right now the left side of my face looks like I had a stroke yet they scans showed normal brain function. At this point anything is worth a shot. I hope your sister and daughter continue to do well and stay in good health. Thanks for your help.
Do you drink any carbonated drinks? Do you drink coffee, and do you use sugar free products? Do you exercise, and what is your diet like? How long did you try the Gamma Globulin and how was it administered? Do you have Amalgam filings in your mouth? What kind of specialist have you soon? Immunologist, Infectious disease, hematologist? There is help out there, you just have to find the right doctor, and don't give up. I am not a doctor but have had a lot of medical classes. My sister had immune deficiencies, as well as my daughter due to EBV, they both had Gamma Globulin once a month for 6 months, then monitored and both are doing Great! They had to stay away from anyone that was sick. Try to stay off antibiotics, as well as steroids, this can all lower your immune system.
Thank you for your time and suggestions. I have had the EBV recheck and it continues to show active that has not ever changed. I have had active EBV for over 9 months now. The cervical problems I referenced were female in nature not c-spine. Thank you again. I have tried gammaglobulin, B-12, Provigil, Nuvigil and Phentermine to no avail. I appreciate any further suggestions.
I just noticed your cervical problem, that could be what is causing the tingling in the arms one of your disc could be pinching one of your nerves. There are a lot of Great doctor's in Plano, Texas. Check with Dr. Bolen he was taught by a Awesome Dr. Wilk he might be able to help you. Again good luck
Epstein Barr Virus, also known as Mono. It also sounds like some chronic fatigue, why haven't your doctor's tried Gammaglobulin my spelling may be off. Concentration and short term memory sounds more like Seratonin up take, maybe Zoloft or Prozac again I had a daughter with Epstein Barr Virus and the Gammaglobulin builds your immune system. Have you had a MRI on your neck? Epstein Barr Virus will always show up in your blood once you've had it, but it needs to be checked to see if its active or getting better. Hope this helps.
