Pontine Hemorrhage

by BamaSuzy, Aug 23, 2008 06:25AM
My husband is a survivor of a pontine hemorrhage.  At stoke onset he was rushed to a local emergency room where he  received a CT scan.  They told him they could not treat him at that facility & he would be transferred immediately to another facility.  It was quite a while before the transfer took place and then it was a big rush to save his life by draining fluid from his brain, and the doctors there informed us he might not survive.  My question is:  Can waiting for treatment contribute to disabilities following a pontine hemorrhage?

Hi;

   I'm not a Dr, but my feeling is "yes", to your question. Did your husband develop hydroencephalous?

Only temporarily but he has permanent nerve damage from the fluid on the brain.
