Thanks for answering my post. When I was hit I remember crying as soon I was hit, no other symptoms I can remember. Presently I don't really suffer from any cognitive deffects, but I do have a anxiety problem. I have one other question I forgot to ask you in my first post, if what I suffered was mild or mabey moderate brain damage, what affect would this have on my intelligence. I don't have any IQ tests to rely on, it just really bugs me that I could of been much more intelligent than I am now if I hadn't suffered this injury. I guess only time will tell when I hit my early twenties and see if I have developed the so called "executive functions".
Thanks alot.
Hi.
You are absolutely correct in saying that a detailed examination and opinion of a Neurologist will be able to explain.
The Kennard principle is not accepted by many doctors these days, including myself. A child's brain is developing. An injury will hamper a lot of faculties to be developed later.
As far as my experience goes, a hit with a base ball bat should cause some short term problems like concussion and post concussion symptoms. But if there was no unconsciousness, nausea or vomiting, a serious brain damage is ruled out.
Do you wish to add any more symptoms of yours ?
