Post lumbar fusion spasms

by beboop, May 02, 2008 12:14PM
I am 2 months post surgery.  I had minimally invasive TLIF surgery.  Fusion L4-L5, L5-S1 with instrumentation.  I continue to have bad low back spasms.  These usually occur after floor exercise, getting out of bed in the morning, and immediately following the hands-on sessions with PT, massage etc.  The spasms are so bad I have trouble getting up, and when I do I can't put weight on my left foot.  Surgery was left sided.  I also have had some minimal problem with controlling stool.  I am on 30 mg MS Contin 3X day, Neurontin 600 mg 3X day, flexerill 10 mg 3X day, Baclofen 5 mg 2X, 10 mg 1X.  Is this normal for 2 months out?  I am really getting discouraged because it keeps me from advancing with the PT exercises.  I was prescribed the baclofen by my neuro when I told him about the problem at my 6 week check up
Thanks,
Beboop.
