Starting about 2 years ago, The  Muscle group that I just work that day  have started "Extreme Cramping"  about 3 hours after work out, shower  and continue for about 7/8 hours- PS when worked with Heavy weights, not light for reps,  have plenty of Fluids even a electrolyte drink(heed runners electrolytes) before/during and after - again this just started happening about 2 years ago!
Any suggestions on   what or why? my doc (a GP) has no answers except fuilds/electrolytes in which i get plenty!

Thank you for your question. Usually, body salt depletion does not start immediately as you begin the exercise and it takes few hours. I would recommend that you consult your treating doctor to start the appropriate electrolyte supplements. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your question. Although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern.

Generally, muscle cramps are common in salt or mineral imbalance after strenuous exercise (as after certain age it aggravates), circulatory problems, with certain medications, excessive cold temperature, whilst you are relaxed or resting or after sitting in an uncomfortable position. Most of the times, they are not related to any underlying disorder but needs checking out with a doctor to assess that your muscle circulation and nerve supply are working appropriately. Meanwhile, I would suggest avoid strenuous exercises, eat a diet rich in fruit and vegetables, eat calcium rich diets, vitamin E & zinc supplement, drink at least eight glasses of water in a day and avoid smoking if you do. Hope this helps.
