Pressure and tingling sensation

I recently asked you a question about new onset headaches, and I now have another
question.  (I'm sorry for asking multiple questions)  I've had a headache for the past few weeks
now, but my symptoms have been changing.  At first I had a lot of pain and
pressure behind my left eye and on the left side of my head, but now I feel a lot
of pressure in my head and especially on the left side of my neck.  I also
feel sensations of tingling (sort of a numbing feeling) on the left side of my
face occasionally.  When I try to sleep at night, I sometimes feel sensations of heat surging
through only my left side of my body (which feels very strange).
My doctor thinks that I suffer from migraines, but I am having an MRI Tuesday
"just in case".  I never felt these new symptoms before, though.  Is there any
reason for concern?  Shall I just wait for the MRI and see what happens?
I'm at a bit of a loss at the moment, so I would be extremely grateful for any info
that you could provide.   Again, I'm sorry to write another question, esp. so soon.
  Thank you so much,
  Ashley

Thanks for posting additional information.  It is not uncommon for migraines
to be associated with other neurological symptoms, such as somatosensory
alterations (sensation of warmth, numbness, tingling).  However, those can
also be the symptoms of a more seriuous problem, such as, for instance, a
stroke.  The more prudent course of action, specially in the initial stages
of investigation for migraine, when you have not established the "benign"
nature of these neurological alterations, is to consider the more serious
scenarios.  Usually, deficits associated with vascular causes (i.e. a stroke)
will have a very abrupt onset, while those attributed to migraines will
progress over several minutes.  Again, those are just guidelines and not
absolutes.  If your symptoms are resolved now, you can probably wait for
your MRI on Tuesday.  However, if at any point, these altered sensations
are associated with any focal/localized motor weakness, you should be
immediately evaluated at the nearest emergency room.
I hope this information is helpful.
