Pressure in head?

Original Post :

"Ever since I was in sixth grade (i am now 20), I got "ophthalmologic migraine's". I'd see weird lights, like tv snow, and then lose my vision for about an hour at most, then got a HORRIBLE migraine. But recently I had one, and it hasnt went away. I feel like im stuck in the first 5 minutes of that kind of headache, where I can see, but not see everything. Like a blind spot. What should I do? my eyes feel  strained, and I dont have a headache. Please help. It feels like something is missing out of the picture.

Also, I have a pituitary tumor, but its a microadenoma. The surgeon said it was not causing these headaches. That was a year ago.

Please help "

So i went to the Ophthalmologist and they ran every test possible for my eyes. The doctor told me my eyes are perfect. I just have an astigmatism. He took pictures of my retina and said that if there was pressure on my optic nerve from the tumor, hed see something.

He said it could be pressure in my brain, or lack of blood flow. Like "falling asleep on an arm."

What could this possibly mean? I went for an MRI/MRA today but it got canceled until next week.

What could any of this mean?

Additional information:

I have an under active thyroid (not from the tumor, the tumor doesn't affect any hormones)
Aortic Stenosis, Aortic regurgitation, and high blood pressure, Asthma, Ophthalmic migraines and Mental issues as well.

anyone know what to do?

I saw an ophthalmologist yesterday actually. He said everything was normal and didnt see any sign of pressure on my optic nerve. he said it was brain related. He said it could be some type of pressure. Lack of blood to the eyes, or something.

I totally understand what u r saying...the waiting is the worst...but, do get the copies right away.....u may want to get a 2nd opinion and I know from my own experience it took me yrs to get a dx....

Have u been to a eye specialist..... ophthalmologist would be able to look into the health of ur eyes and may be able to get in headed in the right  direction for a dx.

Once u have ur MRI results push for answers.

Thanks for the response.

I realize there are probably hundreds of conditions which could be causing this. Its really frustrating, considering since I have panic disorder, its hard to determine if its in  my head, or real. I am getting my MRI/MRA probably next week. My biggest fear, is just going blind.

I don't want to go blind.

Hi...I am so sorry u r going thru all this...it does sound similar to some of the things I went thru.....

I will suggest that when u do go for the MRI to ask for a copy of it when u sign in...this way u can get a 2nd opinion much faster...also ask for a copy of the MRI to be sent to ur home...that will take a week or 2.

There r soooooooooo many conditions with similar symptoms it is difficult to speculate.
But if u know u have a thyroid issue ask to see if it is autoimmune....if so, u may have more autoimmune issues going on.

Good luck with the MRI
