My husband is 56, just had a crainiotomy for a brain tumor in the front right lobe. They could only get part of the tumor out. The prelim biopsy say it was Glioblastoma multiforme, now they think its a Oligodendroglioma.
He just had an AAA endo done three months ago. He is recovered good from that. I was told if he has the Glioblastoma his prognosis is one to two years. What about the Oligodendroglioma?
Is anyone familiar? They are going to give him radiationCystitis - noninfectious Radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks for writing back again.
Median survival times for grade 2 oligodendroglioma are 11.6 years and fro Grade 3 it is 3.6 years. These figures however can be misleading as the exact prognosis can be decided only by the type of treatment and the genetic natureNature-throid Natures tears of these tumors. Overall patients less than 20 years have a very favorable prognosis while in elderly patients 20 year survival rate is 34%.
Hope this helps!
