Purpose of MRI Brain Scan
I have recently seen a Neurologist due to intermittent attacks of severe nausea and sickness, nerve pain, parasthesias and dysesthesias.  He ordered an MRI Brain scan and on the notes typed  'Exclude fossa posterior and demyelination'.  My question is does this mean he is recommending these areas of investigation be excluded from the scan (therefore having already ruled out disorders relating to these), or could he perhaps have been noting that the purpose of the scan is to exclude these disorders?  Is it even possible for a request to be made to exclude these, maybe to save on time/cost?  Many thanks.
