REOCCURANCE OF CHAIRI MALFORMATION?

Hi There,

Was diagnosed with Chairi Malformation in 2005. Went ahead with the operation. Took me 2 1/2 months of recover. Now 4 years later, I have been experiencing similiar symptons.Constant dull headaches, neck pain & dizziness again. What is the likehood of a reoccurance of the same condition. Getting a little worried. Please give me some advice. Ta

I am a fellow chiarian......I have not had decompression surgery as of yet. I had read that it can redevelope.....There is no cure for chiari and depepnding on how the surgery was done, u can have the need for a second surgery.

May I ask were u checked for syringomyelia, tethered cord or ne other chiari related conditions?

It could be that if u have one of these other related conditions, that could be where ur symptoms r coming from.......

Please stop by the Chiari forum here on MedHelp....we have a thread where all those that have had surgery are listed...it is called how many zipperheads......

I do hope u stop by not only for the support, but to share ur chiari experiences with us as well.
