RSDS and fibromyalgia a pill for the pain?

I was first diagnosed with RSDS in 1985 of my lower extremetries and now I am being diagnosed with fibromyalgia about six months. The doctors said most likely I have had it for quite a while but the medical board is leaning towards RSDS. I am in constant in spite of the morphine they have me on. They tried physcial therapy and that did not help. My shoulders are so fragile I now have a tear in each rotar cup. I feel like this has to be happening to someone else because in October I went through thyroid cancer having  to have my thyroid completely removed.  I have been in and out of wheel chairs, walkers, canes and bedrest a good part of my adult life. I am looking a light at the end of the tunnel. There has to be a medication out there to help with this pain. I cannot continue to go on everyday with this much longer.

Have you tried Cymbalta?  I took it for  nerve pain and it did help for a while. They ended up changing it after I had maxed out on the dosage and it didn't seen as effective.  I think that weight gain may also be a side effect.  It's so hard to find something that works and don't have terrible side effects. Good luck.

I was prescribed Lyrica but when I read the side effects one of them being weight gain I had to decline. Not having a thyroid its so easy to put on weight and  have 26 other meds I take for RSDS, migranes, stomach, thyroid replacement that the side effects from them cause swelling, weight gain and other horrible effects. The VA usually will not give out this drug but my doc got special permission because of all my pain and pain history.

You mentioned lymph gands I noticed last week there was some swollen in my right arm pit area like hard nodles and they are tender. When I raise my arm I have little strength

Thanks

I take Lyrica for nerve pain, and it is prescribed for fibromyalgia.  It works in good synergy with the opiate you are on, too.  Give it a try, I take 200mg daily, but you have to start with half of that, it's very strong.  Also, you should have them check your lymph glands where your armpits are, to make sure that your arm strength hasn't been affected by infection or cancer spreading to that location.  Also get them to do a bone calcium exam, you might need a calcium and Vit D supplement, to keep your bones strong, in case that's why your shoulders are troublesome.
