RV-PA Conduit Gradient Increase

RV-PA Conduit Gradient Increase

Hi,

I am 35 year old male, I got married on Apr-2000, my first child (girl) was born on March-2001 and younger one (boy) was born on Aug-2002.

My daughter has no problem health wise, but my son was diagnosed for Heart related trouble when he had a routine check up at the age of 2 month, on further examination doctor found that he has large VSD and his arteries (pure or impure blood) is reverse.

2002, a BT-Shunt is operation is performed and doctor suggested me that the next operation will correct all the problem and it will happen after one year, so on the 2003 TGA, VSD Closure operation is happened without of any artificial things and they told me that everything alright but you have to be keep for routine follow up and you after every 3 month.

But on the 2007 follow up doctor told me there is some increase on gradient and doctor suggested me next operation for my kid, However again a major open heart surgery is happened on Jan-2008, in which they did all the correction i.e. they have applied a RV-PA Vascutek  conduit and resects the membrane, the gradient lower down to 20 but on second follow up i.e. on Dec-2008 they told me that again there is rise in RV-PA Conduit gradient and may it again needs a surgery.

• So doctor please tell me why this gradient is happening again and again?
• Do we have any medicine or exercise that can cure the same?
• I do not want to go for open heart surgery, please suggest me something that it can cure without of any surgery or minimal surgery.

Waiting of your positive response.

Thanks & Regards,
Man Mohan Sharma
