Rabies?? High anxiety fear.

Hey all. I'm just a little panicked right now. I was recently in Cancun Mexico and had an incident with a stray cat. It occurred about 5 days ago. The apartment I was in allowed some story cats to come in and out. We fed this skinny, young looking cat and when I went to sleep it ended up coming over and cuddling on my legs while we slept. When I woke up and was petting it, he grabbed my arm and nipped me. I immediately pulled me arm away and washed it with soap briefly. I don't think it bled, I saw no blood after I washed. And the red mark that it left completely cleared up with a couple of days. I'm terrified now that I have contracted rabies from this encounter. But my parents do not think there is cause for concern and don't think I should get a vaccine. Please help. I can't sleep I'm so panicked. I'm worried I have it and now it's too late for the vaccine.

Go to the doctor. If you washed it well right away, you are probably OK.

Also, side note, it did not bite hard really or aggressively. I think it may have just been a playful kitten thing. Not sure though. This is why I'm a dog person
