Raynaud's Phenomenon

Hello,

My GP has diagnosed me with Raynaud's phenomenon. I generally only have mild symptoms in hands and feet but recently the burning and redness in my feet has been really uncomfortable and the redness pretty alarming. It gets worse when I'm active so I'm not sure if it sounds more like erythromelalgia.

I'd be grateful for comments, friend requests, advice from those wiht knowledge of Raynauds and/or similar stories.

Hi.....I was also dx with raynauds...later to find it was Ehlers-Danlos which many with chiari seem to have....we r prone to connective tissue and autoimmune disorders, which the EDS is one...plus, the cold issues also seam to thread thru the chiarians as well even those that do not have EDS....

There r soooo many issues....that can be linked back to chiari and syringomyelia that it can boggle the mind.

Sorry u r having this problem too

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Thank you for your question. Although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern.

The symptoms you are experiencing certainly sounds that you are experiencing Raynaud's phenomenon and in that blood vessel spasms occur due to cold weather/medical condition that block blood flow to the fingers, legs, nose and ears. Therefore, one may feel burning and redness in feet. Apart from cold temperature (frost bite), drugs that cause narrowing of arteries, atherosclerosis, arthritis and smoking may also cause these symptoms. To prevent this condition, avoid exposure to cold in any form, dress warmly, stop smoking, and evaluate other medical conditions with the doctor if you have any. Hope this helps.
