Your last response was quite reassuring, thank you for taking the time, and I realize
that asking for a "diagnosis" over the Net is unfair.
Another question, can you tell me what the cramping associated with ALS typically
presents as?  I have some minor pain/cramps(?) from time to time, and it is the general
vicinity of where the fasics occur most often, but they are not directly related.  By this
I mean that when the fasics are at their most active, there doesn't seem to be much if any
pain.  Can benign fasics create enough "stress" on a muscle area that it can be prone to more
pain, tightness, minor cramping than would otherwise be the case? My thinking was that ALS
related cramping was pretty severe stuff, and a patient would recognize these as distinctive
from minor pain or stiffness.  Is this correct?
Also, does nicotine from a good cigar tend to aggravate fasics?  I have heard that caffeine can
make them worse, and I believe nicotine is also a stimulant.
Thanks again, you folks are an oasis of support.
