I finally got to see the neuro last week. It turns out I do have fasiculations in both feet and calves and random twitches elsewhere.
He told me to quit caffiene altogether, which I can understand, but also told me to avoid alcohol. What is alcohols effect on fasics?? He also had me walk up and down the hall several times. What was he looking for there??
I was also told to my relief he didn't think this was ALS. Any input??
There has been a report in the literature in the last 10 years liinking
muscle twitching to alcolol intake, prresumably this is why he
mentioned this.
I am only speculating that he is working on the basis of this report, it
may have just been a piece of general advice, why not ask him ?
neurologists observe people while walking as abnormalities of gait
(walking pattern )are characteristic of certain diseases and it is part
of the standard nerurological assessment.
Examples of diseases with characteristic gaits are Parkinson's disease,
MS,
