(I posted yesterday, in error, in general neurology. This attempt is to get my message on the Neuralgia forum.)
I have been dealing with facial pain on the right side of my face for three years, contstantly felt from the top of my head to my chin.  I have had a number of assessments: lumbar puncture, MRI of head and jaw, CAT of sinus, bone scan of jaw, TMJ assessment. All with negative results. I've had difficulty with medications - a rash with Dilantin, extreme fatigue with Tegretol and Elavil. My working assumption is that there is a disease process, perhaps progressive, given the progressive nature of the pain, and that there is a focal point of distress. I'd like your opinion about this, and to know whether you think other tests might be in order. Also, I've just been reading about NICO (Neuralgia Inducing Cavitational Osteonecrosis). I've recently had two root canal procedures, the sites of which often feel like the focus of my pain, although X-rays show no sign of problems. Does this seem to you worth exploring, and how might I do that? Any insight or suggestion would be most welcome. Thank you.
