: My son (27 years old) has a brain tumor (astrocytome, grade 4).
He has already been operated twice. After the second operation he
was given radiotherapy, but he received no chemotherapy. He has
been hospiltalized several times in addition because of complaints
of sensory disturbances, dizzyness, seizures and lack of ability to
maintain food after meals (throwing up almost everything).
Now the doctors have detected metastases in his brain
and they informed me and my wife that they ran out of
conventional treatment options. With his and our consent they
have put him on an experimental chemo-therapy program.
Since we do not want to stand by idle and are afraid that we might
not be aware in Holland of possible new (experimental)treatments or
drugs, we would very much appreciate it if you could inform us
about whether there are such recent or new developments in this
area.
Thank you very much for your help
