The symptom of numb chin has been described in elderly people suffering
from cancer of the prostate , breast or bone marrow tumors (multiple myeloma).
In an otherwise healthy eight year old child it is more likley to be due
to be due to minor compression of a branch of the trigeminal nerve as it
passes through a bong canal in the lower jaw, this has been reported with
impacted molars also. It would be best to mention this at the physical and if you
are still concerned have this sympotom checked out by a pediatric neurologist,
however in this agegroup cancer is unlikely.
