: Could you please explain why so many of us with PN usually have cold hands and feet? I have been assured I do not have bad circulation in my feet, yet they are usually cold if I'm not active.

I am not entirely clear as to whether your hands and feet are actually
cold or if they simply feel cold. Since PN is a disorder of the small
peripheral nerves which convey sensations like heat, cold , touch, pain,
vibration etc the disease may manifest by conveying incorrect perceptions
of peripheral sensations including temperature.
A reason for truly abnormal temperature in PN is that the nerve
supply to small vessels in the skin may be altered, these nerve impulses
control the blood supply to the deeper skin layers and may cause these
tiny superficial blood vessels to contract, making the skin quite cold
despite good pulses in the large arteries in the feet which are palpable
on the upper surface of the foot.
