Your symptoms are more similar to mine than anyone's I've ever heard!  In my case, they are still not sure, but it is appearing to be a virus.  I, too, had a bad case of mono when I was 20.  One doctor thinks it may be the epstein barr virus causing a neuro autoimmine, post viral infection.  It's been nearly five years of speculation and tests for me.  I will be very curious to see what kind of response you get.  I have all your symptoms (when you described them I knew exaclty what you meant) plus a couple.  They've pretty much ruled out MS in my case, but admit they can't completely rule it out.
